Apple TV+ is keeping the laughs going: the streaming service officially renewed Platonic for a third season.

The comedy stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as Will and Sylvia, longtime friends who reconnect years after drifting apart. Their reunion happens during a turbulent period in both of their lives—Sylvia is married with a family, while Will is navigating a divorce. As they lean on each other for support, their renewed bond becomes increasingly intense, often complicating their personal lives in amusing ways. According to the show’s description, “The duo’s friendship becomes all consuming — and destabilizes their lives in a hilarious way.”

Co-creators Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco celebrated the renewal in a statement, saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to get back into the world of ‘Platonic’ with our amazing partners, Rose and Seth and Sony and Apple.”

The series reunites Rogen and Byrne, who previously portrayed a married couple in the Neighbors films, directed by Stoller. Season 2, which premiered in August and ran for 10 episodes, followed Will and Sylvia as they faced fresh midlife challenges involving careers, weddings, and relationship struggles. As the synopsis puts it, “The duo tries their best to be each other’s rock, but sometimes rocks break things.”

The ensemble also includes Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez, and Carla Gallo. Season 2 introduced Emily Kimball and Rachel Rosenbloom as potential romantic partners for Will. Guest appearances featured several former “Saturday Night Live” performers, including Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, and Aidy Bryant, along with Byrne’s real-life partner, Bobby Cannavale.
