Netflix has confirmed that Season 2 of Running Point will debut on April 23, along with a first look at the upcoming episodes. The renewal came shortly after the show’s February 2025 premiere, signaling strong momentum for the sports comedy.

The series once again centers on Isla Gordon, played by Kate Hudson, who rose unexpectedly to lead the fictional Los Angeles Waves basketball franchise during a public scandal in Season 1. Now, she’s no longer seen as a placeholder—she’s firmly in charge, with the spotlight and expectations fully on her.

This season raises the pressure as Isla works to prove she deserves her position while juggling the demands of running a team and maintaining a personal life. Complicating matters, her brother Cam, portrayed by Justin Theroux, is quietly plotting a return to power, turning her every misstep into an opportunity.

The ensemble cast includes Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sanderman and Uche Agada. Season 2 also features appearances from guest stars like Ray Romano, Max Greenfield and others.

Created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz and Elaine Ko, the show continues under the guidance of showrunner David Stassen. Hudson also remains involved behind the scenes as an executive producer, alongside a team that includes Howard Klein and Jeanie Buss.
